I had completely forgotten that I had even entered this competition, so I was thrilled beyond belief.

This is the LO that I entered and this is the journaling on it.

Has to simply be Mauritius…

My parents were born and bred on this magical island. I think it is that island style blood in me that draws me to its intoxicating lifestyle. It’s the one place I can totally be free, let my hair down and just be me.

Imagine nothing other than just lazing around on beautiful white sandy beaches; swimming in turquoise blue oceans and spending alone time with yourself.

When I look at these photos, I can almost feel the sand squishing through my toes; the smell of suntan lotion being rubbed on my body and the delicious aroma of Creole food being prepared for dinner.

The sound of the pounding surf, the beauty of the waves as the tide comes and goes. Walking along the beach, the spray upon my face. The smell of ocean air as a breeze whisks across my face and blows my hair. The sound of sea gulls from above. How peaceful and beautiful this gift from God.

I remember the times I stood on this beach, with nothing but ocean for miles. The warmth of the sunlight captured my heart, and made conviction with my smile. For my soul was free on that beach, every worry, tear and pain faded with each sound of the waves. I was no longer filled with disdain.

How I yearn to walk this beach again. To hear the gulls, to feel the spray on my face, the sand between my toes. To see the beautiful ocean, to watch the tides come and go. The sun rising, the glitter of the rays upon the sea. This beautiful gift from God. How beautiful the peace upon my soul, the walk with God, the quiet moments I share, I can almost hear the pounding surf, smell the salt sea air. I almost feel the breeze as it brushes my cheek. To be upon the beach, see the sun rise and set, to feel the ocean spray upon my face again. Oh how I miss this wondrous gift from God.

I treasure my time I spent here, even though they are few and far between.
It has been my heaven on earth, where all dreams seem possible. Where no barriers stand in my way, there is just me, unstoppable. I have not been there in five long years and my return is still unknown.

The best part of it all, I LOVE Maya Road Products...canot wait for my goodies to arrive so I can play!!!

Been slacking here

Oh well, life does happen you know...

Amy went to Sarah's birthday party last Saturday, and had lots of fun there.

Picked up my folks from the airport on Monday, they have been in Mauritius for over a month with family. They had a ball, my Mom looks so nice and tanned, making me jealous. I guess I will get to have my turn one day.

Got some great pressies from family and my folks.

Got this awesome EK Success PINK storage bag from my cousin, Nathalie. Which now sits proudly on my desk with all my tools etc in it.

My Uncle Phillippe's wife, Elisabeth from Aussie brought me these few things over too.

Been busy most of the week ordering and getting things ready for Amy's party that was yesterday. Although her birthday was the 16th Jan, I was waiting for my folks t get back from their holiday. I did not go overboard this year for her party, I kept it low key and simple, especially with Chloe still being so little. Next year I plan to give her a very nice and fun themed party.
Amy had fun with her cousins and friends from school, it did rain, but the managed to amuse themselves in the sandpit and painting etc.

Been scrapping a bit, while I have had the time, Chloe is slowly starting to demand a bit more attention while awake...and wanting to see what is happening around her.

Received some happy mail from Karen in the States, thanks for my yummy scrap goodies. Cannot wait to put that nice Grungeboard to good use on my LOs.

Here is a photo of Amy playing dress up, but used powder like base, too cute, will make a great scrapbook LO.

Just loved this photo of me watching over Chloe.

As for this one, it is just too precious...

That's about it for now...until next time.

Special Week

These are just some family photos that were taken by Murray's Dad on Sunday, at least I have some to scrap now.

Our darling little baby girl Chloe, turned 2 months on Tuesday. She is starting to smile so sweetly that it melts my heart.

Then yesterday, our big girl, Amy turned 4.

Happy Birthday my sweet angel, I hope you had a great day. Mommy, Daddy and Chloe love you lots...and we are so proud of you.

We look forward to having some fun at your party next Saturday, when Grandmere & Grandpere get back from their holiday in Mauritius.

Last night Murray and I babysat Henri 2 kids, Travis and Mycaela...OMG it was weird, it made me think like imagine if these kids were like ours, it would be like 4 kids all over the place, it was stressful, thank goodness I only have 2, and hope to keep it like that.

A little from my creative side and busy with lots of other things too...Here are some cards and a LO I made for some challenges over at MMFY.

Went to Spurs for Amy's birthday dinner tonight, she had fun, just got a little shy when they brought her ice-cream sparkle treat and their loud singing...

Busy baking 25 cupcakes for Amy's birthday ring tomorrow, so far so good, none burnt...yay!

That is all for now, have a fairly busy weekend ahead, enjoy yours...

Happy Mail & Weekend Activities

Friday I picked up some Happy mail from my post office.

First was my DT Kits for Jan/Feb/Mar for MMFY. So excited that it finally made its way here. So much so that I managed to complete my 2 page LO requirements and upload to the gallery.

These are the 2 LOs I did...We had to use Imaginisce products the Sam and Abby range, I must say, I am very pleased as to how my LOs turned out, what do you think?

Then on a even happier note, I got my Secret Santa parcel from Nancy, woohoo, Nancy, you sure did spoil me rotten. I loved everything, the chocolate already went down so well, yummy!

On the weekend activities, yesterday I took Amy to Courtney's birthday party, they were supposed to have a fun slip and slide water day, but due to rain, they had the jumping castle instead, fun was had by all, sorry no photos, as I forgot my camera in the made dash for party.

Then, in the afternoon, I headed over to my friend Manuela for a quick visit, before they head back for Scotland...have a safe trip back.

Today, was a lazy morning. Then it was time to get ready to go to Murray's folks place for his Mom's birthday. Stayed for a few minutes, then we all headed out to Olive & Oil for birthday lunch celebrations, this restaurant is surely one of our favs, the food has always been great there...

That is about it all in a nutshell. Chloe is going for her 6 weeks vaccinations tomorrow, I hope it does not hurt.

So, until later...

Happy New Year

To family & friends and all my dedicated Blog readers. I hope 2008 is everything you wish it to be and more...

Here is to more scrapbooking, more family time and more everything.

Dinner at Peter & Merinka was nice, Merinka outdid herself with the food again. Better give me that recipe to that delicious chocolate pudding...too die for.

With it being a New Year and all, where they say out with the old and in with the new.

So with that said, here is a new banner to kickstart 2008 off. I am going to try and upload a new banner every month. So watch this space...

Otherwise that is it from me until another day, Chloe is demanding my attention and have lots to do around the house.

Thank goodness my maid and garden boy return to work tomorrow...back to normal again!
