I nearly died...
More like my life flashed before my eyes...
You have to picture the scene...it has been raining all day, and this particular road is well used by buses etc leaving oil patches behind...
After fetching Amy from school, we were on our way to Weighless for my weigh-in. On route there, while driving up Blair Atholl road coming round a sharp bend, my car just started to slide and we started doing 360 degree circles in the middle of the road across both lanes oncoming and behind me. It all happened so fast, that I was not sure whether I was trying to break or control the steering...I finally stopped, when the back of my car hit the barrier, which left a nasty ding at the back of my BMW. The car can be fixed, at least Amy and I are all in piece and did not get hurt, it could have been a lot worse. All Amy could say was..."Mommy I nearly had a heart attack", not sure if she knows what that means, but she sure got a big fright. Thank goodness I did not hit anyone!!!

A little OVERDUE catchup!
Life has got a little hectic of late and I have been feeling so lazy and just not wanting to do anything exciting.
Thought it was time for a little family update...
Attended my very good friend Denise's wedding...I wish both you and Gerry a lifetime of happiness, you looked beautiful...
It was back to school on the 13th Jan for both girls. Amy was off to a NEW school called Atholl Heights and was very excited. She gets to wear a uniform. Dad drops her in the mornings and I fetch her later. While Chloe was back to her 2nd year at Cowies Hill Pre-Primary and into the Bears group, her symbol is a ladybug, which I thought was cute, seeing her 2nd party was about ladybugs...
Here are a few photos of the 1st day back to school...
Chloe has joined Amy at swimming lessons to get her water safe etc. Her first lesson she did not want to go in and cried, but by the 2nd and 3rd, she screamed not wanting to get out...
Weekend of the 16th, went to Natalie's son's, Luke's 1st Birthday party in Empangeni...apart from it being so hot, the party was a great success and the girls had a great time, as you can see in my photos below.
This weekend was an equally busy one, as my Uncle Marc-Henri was down from Mauritius and he came to spend the weekend at our home with my folks, before he headed back home yesterday. Took him to see Avatar in 3D, it was AWESOME. I suggest if you have not seen it yet, best you do, so well worth it. Sunday was spent around the Pavilion in the morning with last minute shopping for my Uncle, then in the afternoon I took him to Phezulu to see some local culture, which he enjoyed.
Just some highlights to see...
All in all, the year is off to a great start. We have Amy's 6th birthday party on Saturday with the them of "HELLO KITTY", which she chose. So, here I am planning all fun little games and activities for the kids...
Today, was also a BIG day for Miss Chloe, they have started potty training at her school, and we follow through at home, so wish us luck...

Pebbles - Pleated Paper
I got to feature on the Pebbles Inc blog yesterday. Pam had a paper pleating challenge...
This is what I came up with...I used the pleat to represent my first letter for my word. I thought it added a great touch.

Challenge "In with the New" is up...

For the remainder of January your challenge is to create something with the NEWEST scrapbooking product you have at the time of making. Creations can be anything papercraft related, it doesn't have to just be a scrapbooking layout. We want to see creativeness in the best form you know how!
I am very well aware that many of you are cutting back on shopping until you use up some of your current product on hand and have also taken away your scrapbooking budget in order to save money this year. That's okay! Your NEW product can be from a year or two ago just as long as it is the NEWEST scrapbooking goodie you currently have.
Creations have to be NEW as of January 17 and must be submitted by the due date: January 31
That gives you 2 weeks from start to finish. Totally do-able and to make it easier on you, you could always pair our challenge with others you plan on doing.

Have had a few requests for another Secret Sister Swap, so ladies here you go...
You need to buy for the value of about R100.00 / $15.00 (excluding postage), as per your Secret Valentine's wishlist on her questionnaire (more or less). You will need to make a Valentine card to send with your parcel. You can add chocolates etc. You can wrap items all nicely in one box or each item individually, that is totally up to you.
I will take sign ups until the 17th Jan 2010 and you will all be emailed with your sister that you need to buy for. Parcels to be mailed by Friday the 1st Feb 2010 (more or less), so as to get there for Valentines Day.

My {WORD} for 2010...
Is.................................."DEBT-FREE"
By that I mean no more buying of subbed kits, as I already have way too many to play with, apart from all the DT stuff I get and things I win along the way. My last subbed kit AMM is up in Feb.
Think twice before impulsively buying something that I really DO NOT need.
Let's see if I can stick to this one for as long as possible.
I know it will be hard, especially with all the pretty sneaks I have been seeing of the new CHA releases for Scrapbooking...
Wish me luck!!!

I Love them...
My BFF, Tracy brought me this sweet gift yesterday and I think it will be my new best friend.
Will make my life so much easier for cutting all those fringes on paper etc, love it, love it, love it!!!
Seeing the girls are at Murray's folks till Saturday, spending quality granparents time together, Tracy came round and we scrapped all arfternoon and early evening.
