Our Week Away

In Joburg, was filled with lots of fun things to do...

Left around 4am on Wednesday the 16th, arrived safely at Pam's house, was so great to see her again and catch up...

Amy fell in love with these 2 sweet souls...Roxy & Jimmy.

A visit to Lory Park, which we found to be well kept and looked after, nothing like our PMB Zoo...

Friday we spent at Sun City's Valley of the Waves, Amy totally loved going down the super slides, which I thought she might be scared of them...but alas, no, very proud of you sweetheart, looks like you might like all the adrenaline things like Mom!!!

Thursday, we visit Leona, was nice to catch up again with her family, and meet her granddaughter, who is so cute! Then after that, we headed out to Emperors Palace for dinner at Col'Cacchio and then a walk around the Garden of Lights, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed!!!

We celebrated Rachel's 12th birthday on the Saturday, the kids had a great time in and out of the pool, thank goodness it was great weather. Then in the early evening, Amanda came over for a braai with us, hey GF...it was great to catch up with you again...

Just a change of topic, on the Saturday morning we get a phone call from Blue Security, saying there is an all zones activation at our home. We tell them we are in Joburg to go see if everything is ok, finally we get a call from them saying there does nto seem to be a break in at all. They phone back during the braai and say the alarms have gone off again and it seems they have gotten in through the windows on the garage side, so they said they would post a guard on duty till we got home. M and I automatically think, oh no, they have got through to our den area where all the computers are etc...so, you can imagine what was going through our minds, no more computers left...all my digital photos gone of the girls years...finally we make the decision to drive back that evening. Rather to get back early before we come home to an empty house (we where due to leave early Sunday, anyways). The drive back was cool and relaxed, as the girls slept all the way home. Although a lot of trucks on route. We came across a very bad accident, a truck had rolled and taken both lanes across the highway and taken out about 8 cars too, if we were driving a little faster, it would have been us involved in it too...clearly it was not our time to go, thank goodness!

We finally arrive home, M takes a walk around the house to see that nothing got broken into and there is no damage to our home. So, when Blue came to pick up their guard M asks where did he see that they had broken into, he shows us the garage windows, which are not attached to the house and had no burglar guards anyways...

We felt very relieved to find our home still one piece and everything in it's place.

Later on the Sunday evening, while watching a movie, we get a phone call from Blue, saying our alarm has just gone off again, which we in turn say, it cannot be so as we are sitting here at home and nothing has been armed yet...

This saga kept going on and off this whole week, so I really feel sorry for the poor family who returns home to find their home has been robbed blind, as it seems someone's else home could have been zoned on our frequency. I hope the technical dept gets it sorted out soon!!!

All in all, we had a great week at Pam and her family, THANK YOU for a wonderful time it was wonderful to spend some time with you and the kids again...
