Prayers needed for a friend of mine

I made friends with Niki on a Scrapbooking forum called Making Memories For You.

Our dear friend Niki Willeart and her family are in the midst of the most dramatic turn of events any family could go through. Niki's friend, Laura, shares the story perfectly here:

I was hoping you would pray for a dear and close friend, Niki Willaert. It is a little girl named Ellie. She just had her 5th birth April 5th, 2008. She has not been feeling well for about 3 weeks and the doctors had scheduled an MRI last Tuesday, April 29, 2008.

Ellie was diagnosed with an diffusely infiltrative brain stem glioma. This kind of tumor is inoperable and rare. The prognosis for children with this tumor is not great-approx 10% live 6-8 months after diagnosis. She will be starting a radiation M-F for 6 weeks in an effort to kill the tumor.

The family is struggling. Pat, the father, is in the construction business and there is just no work. Niki, the mom, stays at home with her 2 girls Elllie (5 yrs) and Desi (3yrs) and she is expecting a baby boy in 3-4 weeks.

This family's life has been turned upside down. Niki is trying to stay strong and has not left Ellie's side since the MRI. Pat is an emotional wreck and can't stand the idea of watching his child slowly deteriorate. The family would appreciate any and all prayers for their little girl and for the family.

We are in the early stages of planning a benefit to raise money for the family. Please pray for them.If you are able to make a donation to Ellie and her family PLEASE contact me for more details.

Niki and Pat have also set up a website for everyone to know what is happening for Ellie and how we can help:

  1. That is so sad for them to be going through something like that. I have left her a message from your link.

  2. It is always very heartbreaking to see a child with its whole life in front of him/her being cut short unexpectedly. Ellie is in our thoughts.
