Dinner with a {Qualified} Chef...

Friday night was our looooong overdue Scrap Social Dinner with our partners.

Thanks to Jenny's suggestion, I booked for all of us to try something new and different.

There is this amazing Chef called Melanie Townsend of Gecko Culinary Adventures and runs a cooking school from home. You choose the menu or type of food you want, she plans the meals and we cook it then and there, in between lots of drinking and chatting and generally having fun. We chose "Around the World".

She shows you the quickest way and all the shortcuts in preparing the different meals. She got us to decorate our plates for the dessert. Showed us how to stack our vegetables for presentation. Each and everyone of us had a chance to do some hands on thing, whether it was kneading the bread or chopping up mushrooms. We all got a part to do.

Our dinner menu consisted of the following:-

Starters
Focacia Bread with basil pesto and dipping sauces
Halomi Cheese pan grilled served with a strawberry/balsamic sauce

Mains
Roasted Beef Fillet
Roasted Butternut
Roasted Potato Wedges
Roasted Large Brown Mushrooms
Steamed Broccoli & Celery
Red Wine Sauce with Button Mushrooms
Roasted Camembert Cheese for topping

Dessert
Liqueur Chocolate Mousse Pots

So as you will see in the photos, a lot of fun was had amongst the eating, drinking and lots of chatting.

Murray enjoyed it so much, that we are booking ourselves with friends to try out her Sushi evening...any takers??

- come on guys, you need to book yourselves an evening there, well worth it, if not just for the hell of it.
